Penn Interactive Expands Michigan Live Casino with Light & Wonder Partnership

Light & Wonder has teamed up with Penn Interactive to broaden the live casino options available on the Hollywood Casino platform in Michigan. This collaboration represents a significant milestone, as it’s the first time Light & Wonder Live has created custom live dealer tables showcasing an operator’s brand in Michigan. It also marks PENN’s initial foray into launching online casino games featuring local property branding.

The new games include Greektown-branded blackjack tables at Hollywood Casino and a live-dealer version of “LUCKY CAT BACCARAT,” a popular title from Penn Game Studios (PGS). Light & Wonder’s approach to game development emphasizes ultra-localization, focusing on numerous customizable features specifically tailored to meet the needs of the Michigan market.

Dana Jackel, Vice President of Commercial & Managing Director for U.S. iGaming at Light & Wonder, conveyed enthusiasm for the partnership, pointing to the synergy between the Hollywood Casino brand and Light & Wonder’s premium offerings. She underscored the goal of delivering a highly engaging and enjoyable gaming experience for North American players. Jason Birney, Vice President of Operations at PENN Interactive, shared this optimism, noting that these customized games not only elevate the online casino’s offerings in Michigan but also reinforce the connection between the Greektown property and the Hollywood Casino brand.

More to Look Forward To

A new standalone online casino platform is set to debut in Michigan. During the company’s second-quarter earnings call, PENN Entertainment CEO Jay Snowden revealed that the Hollywood Casino app is anticipated to launch in Michigan at the start of 2025. At present, PENN’s online customers access the Hollywood MI online casino through the company’s ESPN BET sportsbook site.

Jay Snowden also highlighted that the upcoming standalone app will enable PENN to better capitalize on the strength of the Hollywood brands and its extensive casino database. He emphasized that the company is committed to enhancing its casino product offerings by introducing exciting new game titles from Penn Game Studios, expanding third-party content, and boosting promotional capabilities.

As PENN Entertainment prepares to launch its standalone Hollywood Casino app in Michigan in early 2025, a key question arises: will the new app feature the recently introduced live dealer games from its partnership with Light & Wonder?

With a broad network of in-house and third-party studios throughout the globe, Light & Wonder’s online ecosystem gives access to over 4,500 games. With a strong emphasis on dependability and security, this vast range is effortlessly integrated. To top it all off, the platform has a ton of options for responsible gambling, so everyone can play safely and have fun.
