AI dealers could eventually find a place alongside the familiar faces of live online casino, and Evolution is not ruling out joining the trend. CEO Martin Carlesund says the company is exploring the technology, but he sees it as an addition to the existing casino experience rather than a replacement for traditional live dealer games.
That distinction is worth watching. Evolution is one of the biggest suppliers in live casino, and a move into AI-powered tables could give the technology a significant boost across operator platforms. For now, though, the company is keeping its options open rather than promising a launch.
Speaking on Evolution’s Q3 2026 earnings call, Carlesund described AI dealer games as closer to random number generator (RNG) products than conventional live casino.
“I don’t think that it will take over live.”

Evolution is not the only company exploring what AI could bring to online casino tables. Startups including Avanti Studios and Sentient Studios have focused on blackjack as an entry point, developing computer-generated dealer experiences that could offer operators an alternative to traditional studio production.
The attraction is partly commercial. AI-driven games could potentially reduce production costs and give developers more flexibility over how they create and expand their catalogues. If the games can deliver an experience players want to return to, operators may have another way to broaden their live casino offering.
But reproducing a dealer on screen is only part of the challenge. Live casino’s appeal also comes from its real-time atmosphere and human interaction. AI games may find their own audience, but they will still need to give players a compelling reason to choose them over established tables.
Evolution appears to see room for both formats, rather than a future in which one simply replaces the other.
The AI discussion comes as Evolution’s RNG business continues to gain ground. The division grew faster than the company’s flagship live casino offering for the fifth consecutive quarter in Q3 2026, following a restructuring that gave the unit greater independence under No Limit City founder Jonas Tegman.
Evolution is also developing more regionally focused content. Its new US-focused studio, Spinning Whale, was announced in September, with its first game expected in November and further releases planned for 2027. Carlesund said the strategy centres on content tailored to North American audiences.
These developments suggest Evolution is looking to expand beyond its established strengths, even as live casino remains central to its identity.
No, AI dealers are not about to replace the traditional live tables. But if Evolution eventually brings its own version to market, the technology could move from an experimental niche into a much more visible part of online casino gaming. It is not about whether AI will eliminate live casinos, but what new experiences it might add to the lobby.
